The two downstairs venues at the Croc will have their final shows in December, but the Crocodile and The Crocodile Hotel will stay open.

In a devastating blow to Seattle's arts and culture scene, Belltown's celebrated live music venue the Crocodile plans to permanently close its two downstairs venues, Madame Lou's and Here-After, in December.

As City Cast Seattle reported on Monday, Crocodile staff confirmed that the closures were announced to employees at an all-hands meeting last week. Madame Lou's, a 300-capacity live music club located in the Crocodile's basement, is a mainstay for smaller artists, while the adjacent 100-seat Here-After includes a comedy club, movie theater, and bar. According to an email announcement from The Crocodile, "regular operations" will cease at Here-After on December 20, then at Madame Lou's on December 27.

Today's Stranger Suggests: VOTE!

Choose your fighter. HARRISON FREEMAN

Vote, vote, vote, vote, vote. Just because progressives did well in the primary, doesn't mean this is a shoe-in. Money has been pouring in for Harrell since his pitiful primary performance. He's accumulated over $1.5 million from business CEOs and real-estate developers. And that's just counting his PAC's money. He's rocking another million in campaign contributions. They believe this election can be bought. If you don't show up, it will be. See the Stranger's Endorsements Here!
