Life after SEAF...

Wrapping up SEAF 2026

Once SEAF is over, there are a lot of us who work on the festival behind the scenes for a little longer. The Staff Photographers are editing photos and posting them on our Flickr account and the Art Team is coordinating with artists and art collectors to get all the art back to the right people. As the Executive Director, I oversee all the wrap-up activities and mostly focus on getting everyone paid. And while it's no fun paying all the bills we incurred in making the festival happen, it is extremely satisfying to pay artists. (Artists, those checks should be ready to be mailed to you at the end of the month!)

Supporting Artists

That is what I really want to thank y'all for: supporting our artists and the organizations that support our whole community. This year SEAF sent home 47% of the exhibition with art collectors instead of the artists who created it. And literally half of all the art that was accepted into the festival store is out there in your homes, too! May this art feed your soul and provide you with pleasure for many years come!

Appreciating Volunteers

Volunteers, we can't thank you enough for making SEAF go! We are working on the volunteer appreciation party and we will be sending an invitation very soon to the email you used to SignUp for your volunteer shifts. I hope you will be able to join us at Gallery Erato for sharing feedback, socializing, coming up with ideas for next year, and art gifts! Oh! There is also a special screening for SEAF volunteers to see the Pan Eros Film Festival Shorts Showcase at Gallery Erato and I'll share those details in the coming email.

Save the Date for the 25th SEAF!

SEAF 2027 will take place over the weekend of May 7-9, 2027 at the Seattle Center's Exhibition Hall. Reaching the quarter of a century mark feels very significant and I'm wondering how we can make it even more special and wonderful. Want to help us get in on the planning? Now I must get back to my spreadsheets and shipping art with the conversations and shared moments of the festival sustaining me!
